Team Finley Racing completes the 1st asa race of the season at
O'riley Raceway Park. With 48 cars on hand fighting for 20 spots
the pressure was running high. The team worked on the car all
day and at the end of Fridays practice found them selves sitting
25th on the speed chart. Saturday afternoon they where back on
the track trying to gain some speed. Team owner/spotter Jeff
Finley shares his thoughts " This whole race team new going down
there it would be a tuff race for us with all the entries with
are Car Quest Auto Parts, Northside Service, Nalett trucking,
Howe Ent Ford Fusion. We all stayed focused and kept are
composer. We just got the race car where it was comfortable for
Chad to drive. When it was time to qualify we taped it up and
made a chassis adjustment for him and he was pretty much on his
own. He looked at me and said "Dad we are getting in this race
or we are coming back on a hook." He lit the tires up when he
left pit road and ran a 22.23 and a 22.21 alp times to be 5th
after the run and at the end of qualifying we where 11th.The
best we had run all weekend was a 22.77 so he picked up and put
us in the show. It was
unbelievable to say the least." The race team went on to a 14th
place finish after fighting ignition problems early on. Chad had
to pit 2 times for repairs and a chassis adjustment as well.
Going all the way back to 29th at one point and fighting his way
back to 14th.Next up on the schedule is Spartan Speedway on
Friday nights in Mason Mi and may 26th at Grundy County Speedway
in Morris Il for the asa north series. Team photos will be up
soon. Again thanks for checking in and support are marketing
