NEWS ROOM: May 1, 2008

16-year-old Chad Finley and the Team Finley racing crew headed down to the famed O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis on Friday, April 25, 2008 for the GunBroker.com 100 Presented by ASI Limited. After Qualifying an impressive Eight out of 41 cars on hand, the DeWitt, Michigan sophomore would start Third after an inversion of Nine (9) by ARP Bodies / Aluminum Racing Products Fast Qualifier, Jesse Saunders. After running in the Top Five for the majority of the 100-lap Feature, Finley cut down a tire and spun on Lap 62! Finley tagged the inside backstretch wall suffering cosmetic damage to the Auto Value Bumper to
Bumper Parts Store and Certified Service Centers / AutoParts2020.com Ford Fusion. The Team Finley Racing crew went to work on Finley's machine and managed to get him back out on the track to earn those valuable ASALMS Northern Division points to finish a disappointing 21st. "We had a good race car right off the truck. We were all really happy with it. Bob (Crew Chief Bob Cumbow) made a few changes that Chad liked even more." Explained Team Finley Racing Car Owner, Jeff Finley. "I thought Chad did a great job in the race. He kept his cool and when (eventual winner) Eddie Hoffman got by after five laps of side by side
racing with such a great driver, he keyed the radio and said "Sorry guys I smoked it off in their too hard and slid up. Wont do it again. I think we got a Top Five car." "I was impressed with his maturity and how calm he was. I was nervous as Barney Fife on a bank robbery though!" Laughed Finley. "But once we got settled back down he started to pull away and was reeling in the leaders. Then that heartbreaking flat tire caused us to spin and barley catch the inside wall and bend the right front suspension." "I told Chad to hold his head up high! He did a great job and our day is coming we just have to pay our dues." The elder Finley added. "A Big Thanks to Bob and are new guys' Forrest and Kris for a great job in the pits." He ended. The next race in the ASALMS Northern Division for Team Finley Racing is on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the 1/3 mile semi-banked paved oval of Grundy County Speedway, located West of Chicago and Joliet in Morris, Illinois for the 10th annual George Appleton Memorial 125. In the meantime, Finley will race his Outlaw Bodied Super Late Model at his home track of Spartan Speedway, located South of Lansing in Mason, Michigan. The 1/4 mile will see the 16-year-old in action over the next Four (4) Friday nights of May 2, May 9, May 16, and May 23!
