Team Finley Racing and driver, 16-year-old Chad
Finley, made the 11 hour trip to the LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway,
located East of the Minnesota / Wisconsin state line in West Salem,
Wisconsin for what was to be the fourth race of the season in the
ASALMS Northern Division, the River Run 100 on Saturday, June 7,
2008.
Unfortunately Showers, Thunderstorms, and even a Tornado Warning
forced ASALMS and LaCrosse Officials to cancel the River Run 100.
With both schedules full, it was determined that a suitable make-up
date wasn't available and the race was officially cancelled!
With the LaCrosse cancellation, Team Finley Racing Car Owner, Jeff
Finley has made some important decisions regarding the rest of the
2008 racing season.
"We have certainly struggled this year to get going. To be honest I
thought we would be in a lot better situation at this point."
Reflected Chad's Father and Car Owner, Jeff Finley.
"I think we are going to take the month of July off from the ASALMS
and go testing and see where we end up and go from there to see what
we need to do for the rest of the year." Finley revealed! "We have
some outlaw races close to home coming up we will be running those."
"The ASA Late Model Series is a very competitive group and you have
to have everything working with you not against you." Finley
continued. "Chad does not have what he needs to be up front right
now so rather than run all over chasing it, I think this is a good
time to step back and take a look at it and go test and see what we
are missing."
The next two races on the Team Finley Racing schedule will be on
back to back nights beginning with Northside Service night at the
tight 1/4 mile semi-banked paved oval of Spartan Speedway on Friday,
June 27, 2008 the site of Chad's first career Feature Win earlier
this season.
Then the next night on Saturday, June 28, 2008 the team will head to
the Owosso Speedway in Ovid, Michigan for the first appearance of
the season for the Outlaw Bodied Super Late Models in a special
75-lap Feature!
The next race on the ASALMS schedule for Chad and crew is "To Be
Determined" and will be announced soon.
Thank You.
