News Room:
August 15, 2007
Team Finley Racing made the short trip up the
road Friday august 17th to Dixie speedway in near by Birchrun Mi.
Hoping to get things turned around in front of there home state
crowd and get back on track with weekend sponsorship from Annie Rae
Chevrolet in near by Dewitt Mi. They were decent out of the truck
and were gaining on it when steering box problems set in. Missing
the rest of practice the team qualified a disappointing 24th place.
Chad was making his way thru the field and coming out of turn 4 for
the checkered flag running in 14th spot the two guys in front of him
tangled sending everyone scrambling and unfortunately Chad got
caught up in it as well as others. "We did not have a great race car
tonight but we were gaining on it. We were real loose and just
hanging on till the finish and then all hell broke loose. Those guys
just run out of talent up there and wrecked the rest of us. Our Car
Quest Auto parts, Annie Rae Chevy is pretty tore up. I think we
missed our shock combo tonight but the bad thing is this was a
really fast car for tomorrow at Owosso and we were just trying to
get to the end unscaved. Now we will have to go to our back up car
which is as good but that is my favorite car that got wrecked." The
race team loaded her up and headed down the road to Owosso speedway
and got the back up car out the next morning with lots of help from
Chad's uncle Doug and his crew. The team was very fast in practice
and qualified 6th fastest and was ready to start on the outside pole
when the rains came. "That's are luck, I was feeling real
comfortable in the car and was ready for a great night. I think we
had just as good a shot to win as anybody. I think we may have
turned our luck around to day other than the rain. Next up is
Hawkeye downs and i like that place so we will see what happens.
Special thanks to Annie Rae Chevy for coming on board and helping.
Also my uncle Doug and his crew and mike from Howe Racing was with
us and he was a big help." Team Finley Racing has a very big weekend
ahead of them with Chad racing Friday night at Spartan Speedway at
home then traveling to Cedar rapids IA Saturday night for the asa
race and then back home to Spartan for a Sunday race. "Yeah it is
going to be a busy weekend that's for sure but i love to race so i
am good with it. We are trying to win rookie of the year honors at
Spartan and we have a close battle there so we will be busy." Team
Finley Racing will also be competing in some WKA National go-kart
races this up coming month. As always thanks for checking in and
support are marketing partners when ya can.
Thank You.
