NEWS ROOM: April 17, 2008

Team Finley Racing was ready for the 2008 ASA Late Model Series Northern Division Season Opener at the famed Toledo Speedway in Toledo, Ohio. 16-year-old Chad Finley, New Crew Chief, Bob Cumbow, Car Owner, Jeff Finley and the rest of the dedicated members of Team Finley Racing have been eager to get the 2008 season started! Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans for the 34 teams that showed up for the weekend at the historic ½ mile high-banked paved oval and after persistent showers and a forecast for cold temperatures and even snow showers on race day and on the rain date the following day, ASALMS Officials were forced to postpone the Glass Breaker 125. The make-up date is set for a special Sunday Afternoon, June 1, 2008 with early starting times in an effort to get the teams back home at a reasonable time to go to work the following Monday. Prior to the rains hitting the speedway, Finley and Cumbow gelled immediately and it showed during Friday's Practice Day at the ARCA owned facility. Finley was a consistent Top 12 car throughout the day and on race day Saturday prior to the weather, the DeWitt, Michigan teenager was 11th quickest in Practice out of the 34 teams on hand! "I thought we had a good race car for Toledo. We needed to be a little better for the long run but we where gaining on it." Stated Team Finley Racing Car Owner, Jeff Finley. "I was very pleased with Bob and Chad. They communicated really well together so the future looks good for them. The car looked awesome both on the track and in the pits" Finley then added; "I just can't say enough about Auto Value / Bumper to Bumper Certified Service Centers and autoparts2020.com for all they have done for us! The next race on the 2008 schedule for Chad Finley and the entire Team Finley Racing crew is also the ASALMS Northern Division Season Opener (Part II) and will be held at the famed O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis, located just West of Indianapolis in Clermont, Indiana on Friday, April 25, 2008 for the running of the GunBroker.com 100 Presented by ASI Limited.
